Growing up exercise was always a priority in my life. My dream was to be a United States Marine and I knew being in physical shape was a necessity to make that dream come true. At the age of 18, I joined the Marine Corps and served in an infantry battalion for five years with three combat deployments. I got out of the military and became obsessed with learning more about physical fitness beyond running with a pack on and hiking with heavy loads for enduring miles.

I was powerlifting for a year and a half before trying CrossFit. After my first workout, I was hooked. It helped me maintain my strength and improve my conditioning. Afterwards, I began studying in the methodologies and movements of CrossFit as much as I could. After all, I was doing it on my own.

After two years of studying and researching as much as I could I finally became a Level 1 Coach in 2012.  I promise I will never stop learning to be the best trainer and offer the best service to you. You will get what you pay for and more. Just come ready to train with an open mind and a positive attitude and you will reach your goals.

I grew up in a family that loved sports and being active.  Most of my experience comes from mountain biking, softball, and soccer.  During high school, I ran track, cross country, and played soccer.  My college years are where I slacked off.  Between Athletic training clinicals and studying, I found little time for personal fitness.  After graduate school, I realized that I had to get in gear and start moving again.  I started walking and running, but soon found out I was pregnant.  I kept walking, but once my baby was born I knew I needed to step it up.  I completed Insanity with my parents and then worked with a personal trainer.  Eventually, I gave CrossFit a try, and it did not take long for me to become hooked!

Not long after getting started with CrossFit I decided I would go a little further and try for my Level One.  With a background in athletic training and physical education, I felt like this was a natural progression.  I have a passion for mobility and fitting a workout to each person’s ability level.

For as long as I can remember I’ve always been fascinated by human movement and the body’s ability for athleticism. So naturally I had to go to school for Exercise Science so I could learn as much as possible. A pursuit which I still follow to this day. I knew very early on that I wanted to wake up every single day happy and excited to go to work and fortunately that is exactly what I do. I love guiding people along their health and fitness journeys and showing them that they’re capable of so much more if they are willing to put in the work. I practice what I preach and I want everyone to be successful!

For my entire life, sports and fitness have always been at the forefront of my daily routine. I could always be found out playing some kind of sporting activity, organized or not, or found spending quality time in the weight room. I mainly played football growing up and transitioned to Rugby in high school and continued on through college playing D1 rugby for UNC-Charlotte and later for the Charlotte Rugby Football Club (CRFC). After suffering multiple shoulder injuries I began looking for another outlet to curve my appetite for competition and fitness and discovered CrossFit.
Like so many others, I became instantly hooked to the competition, the community and the pure exhaustion of pushing your limits. After roughly a year of training, I decided to further both my training and knowledge and obtained my CF-L1. My mindset each class is to help each and every person that comes through the door and leave a positive impact on both their fitness as well as their life. The members push and motivate me every day to be better and I hope to do the same for each of them.

As a child, I was always extremely active. Between competitive cheerleading and school cheerleading, I found my passion for fitness. I started Crossfit in 2012 and shortly began participating in local competitions. Two years later, I realized that Crossfit was more than just my passion so I turned it into my career.

Once I started coaching, I wanted to push myself and my interest in fitness further. I pursued my personal training certification and started teaching circuit training, bootcamp classes and one on one training. My goal is for my clients to learn how to move properly while getting a great workout and accomplishing their goals. I place a huge emphasis on form as well as using compound movements to work multiple muscle groups at a time. I love helping people reach their fitness goals and I will be your biggest cheerleader in class or through personal training.
